Several criminal cases were filed in Ouachita County Circuit Court on November 28.  Deputy Prosecutor R. Jeffrey Sawyer of the 13th Judicial District, filed charges against 33 year old Chester Lee McClain of Camden. According to the file, McClain was charged with two counts of delivery of meth or cocaine, two counts of illegal use of a cell phone in the sale of drugs, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of selling drugs within a thousand feet of a school. The filing states that McClain committed the crimes between July 22 and October 12 of this year. Sawyer also states in his filings in court that he'll seek to have McClain tried as a habitual criminal which means additional jail time.

Prosecutor Phillip A. Stone filed three counts of rape and 2nd degree sexual  assault charges against 68 year old Leopoldo Muniz. Muniz is alleged to have raped and assaulted a minor grand child. The offenses occurred between May of 2015 and January 31 of this year.

Thirty-nine year old Sherri Evans of Chidester has been charged in Ouachita County Circuit Court with possession of a controlled substance, meth or cocaine. Possession of oxycodone pills, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, driving on a suspended license and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. On October 7, Camden police were called to investigate a hit and run report. The vehicle had left the scene but was later spotted by Camden police and stopped with Sherrie Evans behind the wheel. Evans denied being involved in the hit and run. A check with dispatch revealed that Evans' drivers license were suspended from a previous DWI. Evans gave police permission to search her vehicle at which time the drugs and paraphernalia were discovered and she was arrested and charged.

57 year old Carl W. Poole and his wife 49 year old Keitha Poole have been charged on multiple drug related charges in circuit court. In June and July of this year, after making drug buys, drug enforcement officers obtained a search warrant and executed a search of the Pooles' home at 143 Ouachita 454. Both the Poole's were present at the time of the search. Officers located over 10 grams of meth in the house and a shed located behind the house. They also discovered drug paraphernalia. During an interview Poole said he's been using meth for several years and he and his wife are both addicted. He's on disability and sells drugs to support his habit. Poole was charged on 7 felony counts and 1 misdemeanor, his wife charged on 3 felony counts and 1 misdemeanor.
