11/23/16   Bearden Woman Charged With Aggravated Assault And Endangering A Child

A 56 year old Bearden woman has been charged in circuit court in Camden with aggravated assault on a family member and endangering the welfare of  a child.

On October 17, Ouachita County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to 182 Ouachita 257, the residence of Joel and Marsha Taylor. When deputies arrived at the scene, Joel Taylor was sitting in a chair in front of the house and they could hear his wife Marcia hollering in the house. Taylor said his wife became upset during an argument and fired a shot at him. Kaylynn Chavers and her 5 year old son were at the residence at the time and Chavers and Taylor got into an altercation when Taylor fired the gun in the presence of her son. Chavers then left the residence and went and reported the incident to Bearden City Marshall John Ainsworth.

Ainsworth and the deputies went to the Taylor residence and talked with Mrs. Taylor and said she became upset that her husband was on the internet all the time. She surrendered one handgun but later when deputies went to take her into custody, she got up from the couch with another handgun in her hand. She was told to drop it and she complied and was taken into custody and charged.

She later bonded out on $5,000.00 bond. Deputy prosecutor Phillip A. Stone filed the charges against Taylor in court.
