91 year old Mark Edwin Lewis died Sunday at a Pine Bluff hospital after a brief illness. He was one of 18 children. He joined the Marine Corps in 1944 and finished high school at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. He was a scout-sniper and JASCO member in the 1^st Marine division and served with them at the invasions of Peleliu and Okinawa, and in the occupation of postwar China.

After the war, he earned his doctorate degree in education from Stanford University in 1963. He and his wife relocated to Hot Springs in the early 80's and owned and operated Gresham's, a home interiors store. 

Visitation is this evening from 6-8pm at Robinson's with services tomorrow morning at 10 in the Chapel at Ralph Robinson and Son with Rev Rusty Womble officiating. Interment at Cedar Branch Cemetery.
