Several criminal cases were filed in Ouachita County Circuit Court in Camden by Deputy Prosecutor for the 13th Judicial District, R. Jeffrey Sawyer.

September 4,  38 year old Wesley A. Pennington of Camden was charged with breaking and entering and theft of property. Pennington is charged with stealing a stereo system out of a vehicle owned by Heather Mosely of 347 Fairview Road in Camden. Pennington has a prior record, commercial burglary in 2012, residential burglary theft of property and felon in possession of a firearm in 2012 and residential burglary in 1996. Sawyer will try Pennington under the habitual criminal statute that allows for more jail time.

52 year old Vicki L. Powers and her 22 year old daughter, last name Watson, of Camden have been charged in circuit court with three counts of forgery, theft of property with a credit card and fraudulent use of a credit card. The charges were filed after Powers' mother, Judy Jackson reported to Camden police that someone had forged three checks belonging to her and used them at Wal-Mart and had charged over $700.00 on her credit card without her permission. A video at Wal-Mart showed Powers and Watson making the purchases. Powers is Jackson's daughter, Watson is her grand daughter. Sawyer indicated he'll endeavor to have Powers tried under the habitual offender statute also.
