10/11/16   Bearden Council Fills Vacant Seat

The Bearden City Council, by a unanimous vote, appointed Vincent Waller to serve the remaining term of Lois Hopkins, who has moved from Bearden. Hopkins served as councilman for Ward 3, position 2. Waller addressed the council before they went into executive session to make their choice for the job.

Sonny Nutt of Bearden was also interested in the job. City Attorney Tom Wynne talked about the legalities of the appointment.

Waller was sworn in by Justice of the Peace Ware Russell and then took his seat at the council table.
