87 year old John Edward Strong of Fordyce passed away Thursday at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as U.S. Navy Ship Quarter Master. He chartered many islands that he found in the South Pacific, naming a few.

Funeral services will be held at 10 this morning at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with Brother Stan Jones, Brother Bobby Thornton and Brother Gary Rayborn officiating. Burial at Wright Cemetery. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
