10/10/16   Warren To Get 400 Thousand Dollars For Sports Shooting Complex

The city of Warren will have up to $400,000.00 to expand its shooting sports complex thanks to a grant from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The grant was approved by the commissioners last month, it will allow expansion of the range, adding 15 rifle-pistol lanes to the current setup of three overlay skeet-trap fields along with plans for archery.

Arkansas Game and Fish Range Development Program Coordinator Grant Tomlin  said the grant is on hold right now until another environmental assessment of the property is done. Tomlin said that should be done in the next few weeks and then work can begin on the range. When completed, shooters will be able to use either rifle or pistol on the new portion.
