October is a big month for Arkansas' more than 120 thousand 4-H members. Not only is it National 4-H Month, but it's also the Arkansas 4-H Month of Service.

4-H is a youth development program that helps young people develop the skills they need to be successful, contributing adults. Whether it's an in-school program or an after school club, 4-H members learn by doing it. We talked with Ouachita county Extension service agent Keri Welch who works with 4-H kids. She talked about what the kids learned showing animals and having exhibits at the fair.
