09/28/16   Bearden Man Charged With Six Felonies

A Bearden man has been charged with 6 felony drug violations. On September 26, Deputy Prosecutor R. Jeffrey Sawyer filed the charges against Faqir Abdus Shawar also known as Stephen Alford of 310 South Plum in Bearden.

The violations occurred between July 12 and August 23. Alford is charged with delivery of hydrocone to an informant, illegal use of a cell phone, possession on hydrocone, two counts of maintaining a premise to sell drugs, selling within one thousand feet of a bus stop, and possession of marijuana.

The arrests were made following undercover drug purchases. Sawyer will seek to have Alford tried under the habitual offender statute allowing the judge to hand down more jail time.
