09/13/16   Fordyce City Council Meets Tonight

The Fordyce City Council will meet this evening at 6:30 in city council chambers at City Hall. One of the items that most likely will be discussed at tonight's meeting is what to do about Granny's House. The subject was brought up at the last Dallas County Quorum Court meeting, and there was lots of discussion but no action taken. Following that meeting, we asked Mayor John McNichol his comments about the situation.

City Attorney Tom Wynne, told the JP's and us following the meeting his opinion on ownership of the building.

The house has been gutted of things of value and no one knows who's responsible. It's estimated clean up of the property would cost around $100,000.00.
