09/13/16   18-Wheeler Stops Train Traffic In Bearden

An 18 wheeler, loaded with lumber got stuck on the railroad tracks in Bearden late yesterday afternoon, and as of 8:30 last night, workers using heavy  equipment were still trying to free the truck off the tracks.

The truck was negotiating the tracks at the Gazebo park when a steel box beneath the truck caught on the tracks and the driver was unable to move forward or backward.

Train traffic came to a halt, and if you've ever been to Bearden, a train is coming through town every half hour it seems. We tried to reach City Marshall John Ainsworth around 9pm last night to get an update but couldn't make contact with him. There were no injuries.
