08/24/16   Elderly Woman Dies In One Car Crash

An 82 year old Springhill, Louisiana woman died on Monday in a one vehicle crash on U.S. 371 in Columbia County. According to a State Police report, Betty J. Palmer of Springhill died when the 1988 Mercury she was driving south bound on 371, left the roadway, collided with a culvert and went airborne, colliding with a tree.

A passenger in the vehicle, 58 year old Thomas H. Palmer of Springhill was injured and taken to Springhill Medical Center for treatment.

The weather was cloudy at the time of the crash, the roadway dry, at 12:45pm Monday afternoon. State Police Trooper Dakota Bailey investigated the crash.
