08/22/16   Cleveland County Quorum Court Special Meeting On County Jail Tax

The Cleveland County Quorum court meets in special session tomorrow night at 7pm at the Courthouse in Rison. The main item the JP's will have to consider is ordinances that must be approved by August 28 dealing with two sales tax questions to fund a 47 bed county jail for Cleveland County.

The two sales tax questions will be put before the voters on the November 8 general election ballot and will be voted on separately. Voters will be asked to approve a 2 ½ cent sales tax to pay for building, maintaining and operating a 47 bed county jail.

Another item County Judge Gary Spears will bring before the JP's is air conditioning repairs for the courthouse. The meeting is open to the public tomorrow at 7pm at Cleveland County Courthouse.
