08/17/16   Today It's Back To School In Fordyce

It's the first day of school for Fordyce School District Students. High School Principal Dr. Judy Hubble says any student who missed registration should do so before classes get underway today. Students not registered by today will not be allowed to attend classes until they register.

The school district will begin a new lunch program this year that provides free lunch for all students.

School hours are the same as last year, with the first bell at the high school at 7:45 and classes beginning at 8am. School dismisses for the high school at 3:15pm. Classes at the elementary school begins at the same time this year at 8am with dismissal at 3:10pm. Elementary students should report to the cafeteria each morning before school begins.

Fordyce Superintendent of schools, Dr. Albert Snow told us in an interview on KQ-102.3's "South Arkansas Today" that all the staff are in place for the beginning of the school year. During the course of that interview, Snow said teachers today are not educated like they used to be. Snow says he has to train teachers on a yearly basis.

A reminder, the Fordyce Elementary school will have open house on Tuesday, August 30 from 5:30-6:30pm.
