08/11/16   Ouachita County JP's Take Action On 3 Appropriations Ordinances

 

The Ouachita County Quorum Court met on Tuesday night at the Ouachita County Courthouse. The meeting date was moved to accommodate National Night Out on August 2. The JP's took action on three appropriations ordinances and one resolution.

An appropriations ordinance amending the annual operating budget for  various funds for Ouachita County for 2016 passed. The total appropriations amounted to
$4,428.00.

The JP's passed an appropriations ordinance amounting to $20,000.00 that was appropriated from anticipated revenue in the jail operating funds. The appropriations included $15,000.00 for parts and repairs and $5,000.00 for plumbing and electrical expenses.

The court passed an ordinance appropriating funds in county general, building maintenance and the department of human services budget amounting to $22,696.00. $12,696.00 for telephone-fax landline and $10,000.00 for plumbing and electrical.

Ouachita County is applying for a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant from the Natural Resources Conservation Service for a project entitled “Tate's Bluff Streambank Stabilization, Emergency Watershed protection. The count is requesting funding for up to $500,000.00 with a $375,000.00 Federal Share and a $125,000.00 local share. Ouachita County is also requesting up to five percent of the project for technical assistance, with a one hundred percent federal share on the technical assistance funding. The JP's authorized Judge Robbie McAdoo to apply for the grant.
