07/29/16   One Vehicle Accident Claims A Life In Chicot County

An Oak Grove, Louisiana man died in a one vehicle mishap in Chicot County on Wednesday morning. According to State Police, 66 year old Eddie R. Purvis of Oak Grove was killed when the 2004 Dodge Stratus he was driving, heading south on highway 159, crossed the center line and onto the northbound shoulder, the vehicle then over corrected and came to rest on the southbound side in some trees.

Purvis was taken to Chicot Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Weather conditions were cloudy and the roadway wet when the accident occurred Wednesday morning around 10:30. State Trooper Caleb A. Pevehouse investigated the crash.
