07/20/16   Police Chase In Fordyce Ends In Accident

Fordyce Police officer, Bryce McKinney, assisted by officer John Cuttrell on July 2,  cited a Little Rock man with 11 charges following a chase through Fordyce that ended with the man wrecking his car.

According to the report, McKinney was attempting to stop a black Mustang,  driven by 36 year old Joseph Cranford of Little Rock that had run a stop sign at 1st and Cadiz Street. Cranford fled instead of stopping and McKinney pursued Cranford through several intersections. McKinney reported Cranford's vehicle left the ground at the railroad tracks on South Russell, and the vehicle sped up to speeds of 70 miles per hour, the vehicle then jumped South Main and was  headed down East 6th where the vehicle turned over onto the drivers side. Officers McKinney and Cuttrell got Cranford out of the vehicle apparently uninjured.

Cranford had an active warrant out of Little Rock for arson. When officers searched him they found a stack of folded bills and three small bags of a  leafy substance in them. Cranford was charged with 8 counts of running a stop sign, reckless driving, possessing marijuana with intent to deliver, fleeing with property damage.
