07/20/16   Auto Accident Claims A Fordyce Life Injures Rison Resident

 

A Fordyce man was killed and a Rison man injured in a two vehicle crash on Monday afternoon on state highway 35-north in Cleveland County. According to a State Police report, 24 year old Demarcus Levar Cones of Fordyce was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and 37 year old Luther Drye of Rison was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

According to the report, a 2003 Toyota Camry driven by Cones was attempting to negotiate a right hand curve and crossed the center line, colliding with a 2016 Dodge Ram driven by Drye headed south on highway 35. Weather conditions were clear, road conditions dry at the time of the crash at 2:30 Monday afternoon. State Trooper First Class Greg Rowland investigated the accident.
