07/04/16   Eleventh Grade ACT Scores Hold Steady

According to the Department of Education, Arkansas' 11^th graders average ACT scores held mostly steady during the 2015-2016 school year, with some areas showing slight increases.

Eleventh graders' average scores of 18.1 in English and 19 in reading remained the same as the previous year, while average scores increase slightly from 18.5 to 18.6 in math and from 18.7 to 19.1 in science and the total composite score increased slightly from 18.7 to  18.8. A total of 31,081 Arkansas 11^th graders took the ACT during the past school year.

The Education Department offered the exam to all 11^th graders at no charge to the students. The number of students who participated increased by 22,348, or 72% from the previous year.
