06/27/16   Hampton Man Dies In One Vehicle Accident In Union County

A 34 year old Hampton man died in a one vehicle accident in Union County early Saturday morning. According to a preliminary State Police report, William J. Porter of Hampton was a passenger in a 2012 Toyota driven by 23 year old Kevin D. Jackson of Petal, Mississippi.

The report states that Jackson was northbound on highway  67, just south of Calion when the vehicle left the road on the east side and skidded into an embankment.

Porter was pronounced dead at the Medical  Center of South Arkansas. Jackson was also transported there for his injuries.

The roadway was dry, the weather clear at the time of the crash at 12:50 Saturday morning. Corporal Jeff Hust of the State Police investigated the accident.
