Twenty five year old Cullen Dewayne Rufus of Camden is facing drug charges in Ouachita County Circuit court. On June 7,  Deputy Prosecuting attorney R. Jeffrey Sawyer filed possession charges against Rufus as the result of a traffic stop by Camden police on May 16.

According to the police report, a police officer on patrol observed a vehicle without headlights and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Roy Beard, the passenger was identified as Rufus. As Rufus exited the vehicle, officers spotted a baggie of marijuana on the passenger's seat and under the seat. Both Beard and Rufus denied any knowledge of the drug. They were both taken into custody.

During a search of Rufus at the police station, officers located a bag in Rufus' pants leg containing 18 individually wrapped bags of suspected cocaine. Beard was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Sawyer also filed charges on June 7 against 22 year old Deshaun Ra'Shad Arnold of Camden. Arnold was charged with burglary and theft of property stemming from a break in that occurred on September 30, 2015 at a residence on California Avenue.

On June 7, Deputy prosecutor Sawyer filed charges of aggravated assault against 28 year old Courtney Dastasha Pearson of Camden. She's charged in a May 3 incident in which she attempted to run her husband down with a vehicle after he refused to give her the car keys.

Two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia were filed against 33 year old Victoria Patrice Martin of Camden on May 18. On that date police executed a search warrant on a residence at 631 Pierce in Camden and arrested 70 year Jimmy Scott and Victoria Martin on a robbery warrant.

A search of the house revealed two used crack pipes with drug residue, a digital scale, roach clip and straws near a pill bottle containing Hydrocodone. In addition to drug charges, Scott was charged with terroristic threatening in threatening to kill the victim of the robbery. The victim was an 88 year old man who lives on Waco street in Camden.
