06/15/16   Dallas County Circuit Court Charges

A 39 year old Bearden man has been charged in Dallas County Circuit Court with delivery of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Prosecuting attorney Tom Wynne filed the charges against Shamdor Montae Thrower.  The charges stem from a traffic stop on March 4 in Fordyce. After a patrolman stopped the Thrower's vehicle near the Fordyce Public Schools, Thrower fled and he was later taken into custody.

When Thrower exited the vehicle, a black bag containing two plastic straws and white powder residue fell out onto the pavement and the charges were filed against Thrower. Thrower was stopped for a defective head light. Wynne will seek to have Thrower tried under the habitual offender statute that allows for additional jail time.

Wynne will also seek to have 23 year old Detrick Dion Crain of Fordyce tried as a habitual offender as well. Crain has been charged in Dallas County Circuit court with residential burglary. Crain is charged with literally kicking the door in at the residence of Laketa Johnson and entering the house. Crain has several other felonies on his record.

Twenty six year old Prentice Ramone Clinton of Fordyce was charged in Dallas County Circuit Court with discharging a firearm from a vehicle, aggravated assault and a terroristic act. The charges are the result of an incident that occurred on April 4.  According to information filed in court, Crain is charged with firearm that created substantial risk of injury to those persons inside the home of Becky Smith on East 6th Street, including children. He's also accused of firing a handgun at Smith's son Tyrel Harris. Officers found three 9mm casings and two 40 caliber casings at the scene.
