06/8/16  Criminal Charges Filed In Ouachita County Circuit Court

 

A 38 year old Bearden man has been charged in Ouachita County Circuit Court by deputy prosecutor R. Jeffrey Sawyer with possession of controlled substance, meth or cocaine, obstructing government operations and he'll also stand trial  under the habitual criminal statute.

According to a police report, the charges are the result of a traffic stop by Camden police on April 18 when police observed a vehicle driven by 24 year old Brooke Sparkman of Camden didn't have a vehicle license. A passenger in the vehicle, Shanndor M. Thrower of Bearden was visibly shaken by the appearance of police. When officers ran a check on him they discovered he had a parole violation warrant out on him. He was taken into custody. A search of Sparkman's vehicle uncovered an acid reducer box containing what appeared to be meth. Sparkman was arrested and charged with possession of meth or cocaine, drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle without a license plate and failure to stop at a stop sign. The charges against the two were filed May 31 in circuit court.

Twenty seven year old Victoria Spence of Bearden was charged in circuit court on May 31 with 2nd degree domestic battery. The charges were filed on April 2 when Spence assaulted her mother Patsy. The altercation came about when Victoria refused to give her mother's cell phone back to her. A fight ensued and Victoria badly beat her mother. According to the police report, Patsy suffered a broken wrist and rib and spent 5 days in the hospital for treatment.

Deputy prosecuting attorney Phillip A. Stone filed three counts of delivery of meth or cocaine against 52 year old Wremburen Jones Jr. of Fordyce. The charges were filed by drug task force members following an investigation of Jones. The charges against Jones were filed in Ouachita County Circuit Court by Stone on May 31.
