05/12/16   Measles Outbreak In Memphis Gets Arkansas' Attention

 

Dallas County Health Unit Administrator Donna Ferguson talked about getting immunized against measles recently on KQ-102.3's South Arkansas today. A recent outbreak of the measles in Memphis has caused concern for Arkansas residents, many of which visit Memphis on a regular basis.

Measles is a very contagious disease. Anyone born before 1957 is probably immune to the disease. Ferguson said if you're not sure about whether you have received the measles vaccine, it's easy to check.

Ferguson said it is possible to die from the measles.

Ferguson said there are some kids not being monitored.
