Deputy prosecuting attorney Phillip A. Stone filed charges in Ouachita county Circuit Court on May 3 against 29 year old Phillip S. McBride of Camden. McBride was charged with failure to stop following an injury accident, possession of a controlled substance and driving with no license. Camden police filed the charges against McBride on March 29 following a hit and run accident on South Street in Camden. According to witnesses, a car driven by McBride turned off highway 7 on South Street and struck Leandrick Buchanan who was riding a bike and coming out of a business drive way. The vehicle was later located and McBride was taken into custody. Police located a pill bottle in McBride's pocket containing a substance suspected to be ecstasy.

Prosecutor Stone also filed charges against 24 year old Ervin Deshaun Christian of Camden on May 3. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on March 21 at Carver Courts in Camden. Police charged Christian with possession of a schedule 6 controlled substance with intent to deliver. He was arrested following an inventory of the vehicle he was driving. Police discovered a large bag of marijuana, Ziploc bags and a scale.

On May 3, the prosecutor's office filed criminal charges against 35 year old James Anthony Utsey of Camden for possession of meth or cocaine with intent to deliver, fleeing in a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving left of center, and driving on a suspended license. Following a considerable chase through some neighborhoods off Bradley Ferry road, Utsey was tased and taken into custody after he fled from his vehicle. During the chase police observed Utsey throwing things from the vehicle. When he was captured police found 4 small baggies thought to be cocaine in his possession.

Prosecutor Stone also filed criminal charges on May 3 against 28 year old Emily Henderson of Camden. On March 24, Camden police arrested Henderson following a traffic stop and charged her with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sixty two year old George Edward Jones of Camden was arrested on August 1 of last year and charged with rape, computer exploitation of a child in the first degree, distribution, possession or viewing sexually explicit matter involving a child. Formal charges were filed against Jones May 3 in Circuit Court in Camden.
