05/11/16   Bearden City Fathers Address Animal Control And Downtown Building In Disrepair

The city of Bearden no longer has six different ordinances on the books concerning animal control, on Monday night the council unanimously passed an ordinance 13 pages long that addresses every animal control issue you can think of.

The ordinance provides for the licensure of all animals within the city limits of Bearden. All animals must be vaccinated at three months of age. If you have questions, you need to contact city hall.

Part of a building in disrepair and collapsing in downtown Bearden on 79-B and owned by Becky Smith will be demolished. Mayor Iva Lou Stoker told the council Monday night, the main building which used to house a business is in generally good repair and will not have to be torn down.

Mrs. Smith has assured the mayor the run down portion of the building will be demolished within a week.
