05/11/16 Dallas County Circuit Court |
Tom Wynne, deputy prosecuting attorney for the 13th judicial district, filed several criminal cases in criminal court on May 5. 40 year old William Hamilton of Fordyce was charged with breaking and entering and theft of property as the result of an incident that occurred on March 4 at Days Inn Motel. According to information filed in court, Hamilton is alleged to have had a key made for a room occupied by a woman who had checked into the motel whom he had briefly talked with earlier. The woman reported to the motel's management that a tablet, a bag of gold coins and large amount of cash had been taken from her room while she was not there. Fifty-seven year old Karen King Bailey of Fordyce was charged with terroristic threatening as the result of an incident at her home on September 29, 2015. A police officer brought Bailey's son, who was incarcerated at county jail at the time, to the residence to pick up some things he needed. Bailey became very belligerent and tried to sic her dog on the officer and used profane language toward him and threatened his well being even though the son told his mother he was being well cared for. Wynne will seek to have Bailey tried under the habitual criminal act. Thirty-four-year-old Daniel Kyle Hogue Jr. of Fordyce was arrested by police on March 22 and charged with possession of schedule one and two controlled substances, meth or cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Following a report of a man sleeping in his vehicle at Kauffman's car wash, Sheriff Stan McGahee and Chief Deputy Josh McMullen responded and found Hogue asleep in his vehicle. When the officers woke him up, he attempted to drive off but was stopped and ordered out of his vehicle. A search of his vehicle produced a small bag of what was thought to be meth and a small bag of marijuana, 2 light bulbs, 3 pipes in addition to the one they found in his lap and several straws used for drugs. Hogue was placed under arrest. Wynne filed charges in Dallas County Circuit Court on May 5. Following a traffic stop in Fordyce on April 1, 52 year old Kenneth Wayne Walker of Fordyce was charged by Fordyce police with possession of a controlled substance, meth or cocaine. A check on Walker revealed he did not have a valid drivers license and was on active parole and had a search waiver on file. Wynne will attempt to have Walker tried under the habitual criminal act that allows the judge to mete out additional jail time. Following another traffic stop in Fordyce on April 3, Fordyce police charged 26 year old Latoucha Marie Allen of Fordyce with possession of a schedule four narcotic with intent to deliver. A check on Allen's record revealed the plates she was displaying on her vehicle belonged to another vehicle. The arresting officer detected the odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle. A check also revealed her drivers license had been suspended. One of the passengers in her car, identified as Justin Morris was arrested on an outstanding warrant, the other three passengers were free to go. Prosecutor Wynne filed criminal charges in the case on May 5. On April 8, 24 year old Williams Henry Vaughn of Hampton was arrested following a traffic stop. Prosecutor Tom Wynne filed charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, tampering with evidence, theft by receiving & possession of drug paraphernalia. Vaughn was also cited by police for failure to stop at a stop sign, driving on a suspended license and failure to pay fines. Wynne will ask the judge that Vaughn be tried as a habitual criminal as well. |
