04/27/16   Bearden Water Project Continues

Following a public hearing on proposed work to be done on Bearden's water tanks, the council voted unanimously to move ahead with the project, but not including the big water tank behind city hall. Following the meeting we spoke with Kiron Browning, representing Franks Engineering Company who was hired to do the work. We asked Browning about the condition of the old tower.

We asked Browning about the law pertaining to lights on top of water towers.

That was former Bearden mayor and business owner Homer Jones joining in on that interview. Jones pleaded with the council at the public hearing to save the old tank.

The city of Bearden is borrowing 1.1 million dollars from Arkansas Natural Resources Commission to do the work.
