04/22/16   Dallas County Sheriff Discusses New Non-Lethal Weapon

A bit of high-tech less-lethal weaponry has come to Dallas County, it's the Cobra pepper spray gun. Dallas County Sheriff Stan McGahee and Chief Deputy Josh McMullen were our guests on So Ark today yesterday to talk about this new gun.  McMullen said one big advantage of the new pepper spray gun is that it can be used in a closed in area and not contaminate the  whole area.

Sheriff McGahee said he heard about the new gun at a Sheriff's Association meeting.

We've heard about all the police shootings where individuals have been shot and killed by police officers. We asked McGahee if this weapon had been available, could it have saved lives.

McGehee said Dallas County is one of a few counties that has the new pepper spray gun.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Department has two of the new less lethal Cobra's. It's a Swiss made product.
