04/21/16   Weather Relents, Outlook Good For Cotton Belt Weekend

The Forecast For Friday and Saturday is calling for clear skies and mild temperatures providing great weather for the two biggest days of the Fordyce On The Cotton Belt Festival.

The festival continues today, day four. The carnival will begin offering rides today through Saturday, and there's gospel talent on stage at the courthouse this evening, a band called Rough and Ready will be performing. Richard Ledbetter, who's been lining up the talent for the festival talked yesterday on KQ-102.3's "South Arkansas Today",  about that group and the group that will be featured Friday night, he first talked about Rough and Ready.

Joe Bill Meador said the Red Bug Reunion is what makes the festival special.

There's lots of other activities throughout the day tomorrow. On Saturday the day kicks off with the 5K run. Meador said these runners are serious.

According to Meador you can get your 36th annual Fordyce on the Cotton Belt t-shirt at the festival headquarters in the old Benton Furniture store building on main street, all sizes are still available.
