On February 8, 2016 Dallas County Deputy Ryan Coleman arrested 64 year old Sharron M. Watkins of El Dorado and charged her with possession of meth-cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule one or two narcotic.

On April 9 Cody Kelloms of Benton reported his 2014 Honda Rancher 4 by 4 stolen from Bradberry Hunting Club near Carthage. Kelloms told Deputy Larry Bennett he last saw the 4 wheeler parked on a trailer at 1am and at 5am when he got up to go turkey hunting, someone had stolen it. Kelloms said the 4 wheeler was green in color with 30 inch silver back tires, the left back fender is cracked with holes drilled and pulled together with zip ties. Anyone with information about the theft should call the Dallas county Sheriff's office.

On March 5, Dallas County Deputies arrested 33 year old Curtis Williams Nussey of Malvern and 32 year old Brandi Lafran Walters of Bearden and charged them with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of meth or cocaine, possession of a narcotic, fleeing, endangerment of a minor 1st and 3rd degree and driving with suspended license. The arrest came as the result of an attempted traffic stop for a seat belt violation. Nussey fled, heading toward highway 7 in Sparkman. The deputies were flagged down by a resident who said the vehicle had come into their yard. When deputies approached the vehicle they found Brandi Walters and a child, Nussey had fled into nearby woods. Nussey surrendered when officers told him a K-9 unit was on the way. After a search of the vehicle, officers found a bag containing bags of a clear crystal substance, a glass pipe used for smoking, a syringe and metal container with pills inside. Nussey and Walters were both taken into custody.

On March 7, Mike Esch of Sparkman reported to the Sheriff's office that his business had been broken into. Esch told investigating Deputy Ryan Coleman that he found blood on his front door, missing pills, a dog mat was missing and keys turned on in some of his vehicles and someone had tried to log in on  Facebook on his computer. A shirt was found at the scene belonging to Hannah Olivarez, who was also observed trying to break into the business the night before. Coleman received a report that Olivarez was at a Sparkman residence and found her hiding in a closet. She confessed that she had stayed the night in Esch's shop. She was taken into custody and tested positive for meth, prescription pills and TCH.
