04/14/16   Fordyce On The Cotton Belt Festival Begins Monday

The 36^th annual Fordyce on the Cotton Belt Festival kicks off on Monday in Fordyce. Most of the events will take place in the vicinity of the courthouse square. The first event on the week-long festival will be Monday night. Beginning at 6pm the Cotton Belt Gospel Explosion will be held. Tuesday night it's CASA's Karaoke competition at 6pm on the courthouse lawn. More Gospel singing Thursday night at 7pm on the courthouse lawn. Joe Bill Meador, who's been involved in the festival since its founding 36 years ago says his favorite event of the festival is the Redbug Reunion.

A full day of events is scheduled for Saturday beginning with the 5 K run at 8am at 4^th and Main Street. The parade will begin at 11am.
