04/04/16   Homesteading Conference This Weekend In Rison

 

The two day South Arkansas Homesteading conference is coming up Friday and Saturday at Pioneer Village in Rison. Gates open at 4pm Friday. 

Admission is free on Friday with the Rison community garden open house, where you can check out 27 raised beds, hoop house, compost corral and “chicken tractor”. There will be a vendor expo and demonstrations. You can enjoy a beans and greens fundraiser supper for the Pioneer Village. Blue grass music will be provided while you enjoy beans, greens, ham and cornbread, tea and dessert. Proceeds will support the restoration efforts at Pioneer Village.

On Saturday, gates open at 9am, there will be two tracks of educational sessions from 10am till 2:30pm, demontrations and displays will take place. For more information call 870-325-6412. The event is sponsored by the Cleveland County Herald and UofA division of Agriculture.
