The man who founded Parkard's Inc, an office supply and printing business in Camden has died. Edgar R. “Buddy” Packard of Camden passed away on Wednesday at the age of 89.

Packard was the company president and principle owner until his retirement. He served for 6 years as Chairman of the Civil Service Commission in Camden and served on various other organizations. Packard helped organize the Ouachita Flying Squadron, which provided many young hometown pilots access to aircraft to build their flight time and increase their enjoyment in flying.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 11 at First United Methodist Church in Camden with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is this evening from 6-8pm at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden.
