03/17/16    Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission Equine Infectious Anemia Class Scheduled

Area county 4-H agents, county agri agents, Ouachita county District 4-H program assistants, Delta District 4-H program assistants and Ozark district 4-H program assistants are being reminded of an Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) verification class offered at no cost from the Livestock and Poultry Commission.

All equine events in Arkansas are required to have an EIA verifier present to check Coggins papers of all horses entering the event. The subject matter to be covered in the class includes knowledge about Equine Infectious Anemia, current Arkansas law as it pertains to EIA, and how to properly verify equine entering an event.
