03/09/16   Dogs Are Loosed At Midnight Tonight

At midnight tonight some 120 wild hog hunters entered into the Razorback Roundup wild hog hunt will turn their hog dogs loose for a hunt lasting Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The conditions are less than ideal for the hunt with heavy rains forecast all week. The hunt ends on Saturday with the weigh-in around 3pm that will decide which hog hunting teams will share in over $5,000.00 in cash prizes, for the biggest and meanest hogs, biggest tusk and the team with the most hogs. There will be another approximately $4,000.00 in prizes for other events such as the coon hunt, the fox hunt and squirrel hunt. There will be a treeing contest, greased pig contest for the kids and teens.

All of the activity, with the exception of the hunting events take place at the armory building next to city hall in downtown Fordyce. There's no admission charge.
