03/09/16   Ouachita County Sheriff's Report

A Camden man was cited by the Ouachita County Sheriff's deputy Michael Davidson for leaving the scene of an accident. The single vehicle crash, with no injuries, occurred on March 5,  when a Ford Expedition, driven by Josh Paull of Camden struck the railroad trussell on Highway 7 North. When deputies were called to the scene, they found the vehicle with heavy damage under the trussell. Paul came to the Sheriff's office the next day and stated he failed to negotiate the sharp turn at the trussell. Paull said he left the scene because he didn't have access to a cell phone and walked home from the accident. Paull was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.

On March 4, Ouachita County deputy William Carman was dispatched to highway 203, near Ouachita 93 in Bearden in reference to a log truck leading fuel all over the road. Terry Baxley, driver of the truck, told Carman he was traveling north on 203 near the intersection with county road 93 when he hit a large metal object lying in the road that put a big hole in the bottom of his gas tank. Baxley said he would fix the problem himself. OES and the highway department  responded and spread sand over the fuel spill.
