02/25/16   Today Some Ouachita County Residents Get Relief From Utility Bills

 

Today is mass intake day in Ouachita County for Home Energy Assistance for families with disconnect notices. To qualify for help, persons must have a disconnect notice with a disconnect date within 7 days of application date. Eligible households must meet income guidelines and furnish proof of all household income for the month prior to applying.

The program is sponsored by the Central Arkansas Development Council, which was formed in 1965 to fight and win the War on Poverty. CADC will not accept mail-in crisis applications, unless it's from an elderly or disabled person unable to appear for some extraordinary reason.

The mass intake today will be held from 8am till noon at Carnes Park at the Teen Town Building off highway 7 or Adams Avenue in Camden. Applications are being accepted at the CADC officer at 313 Jefferson in Camden today from 8am till noon. For more information, call 870-836-3200.
