02/24/16   Weather Interfering With Bearden Depot Project

Work continues on getting the depot moved into Bearden. Weather has caused a delay in getting the depot moved waiting for the slab to set where the depot will be situated..just off 203 near city hall. Mayor Iva Lou Stoker said at the last Bearden City Council meeting, there should be money enough left from moving the depot to get other things needed for the building paid for.

The Mayor said there was a problem with the individual who agreed to paint a new sign for the building.

The council gave its approval to release the money to pay for the move of the depot and for the work in laying the foundation for it. Another subject discussed at the meeting was sidewalk improvements downtown. Council member Denise Link shared a conversation she had had with a state representative last summer.
