02/09/16   Ouachita County Votes Today On Millage Increase For Harmony Grove School

A vote on a millage increase for the Harmony Grove School District takes place today. Voters will decide whether or not to pass a 5.6 mill increase to fund construction projects and make improvements on existing facilities.

Early voting began last Monday. If approved, the 5.6 mills would increase the millage rate in the Harmony Grove District to 45.7 mills and raise about 4.6 million dollars a year.

The millage increase would increase taxes on a $100,000.00 house by $112.00 dollars.

Voters on September 15 turned down the proposal by a 25 vote margin. Voting is taking place at the Ouachita County Clerk's office.
