02/07/16   Manhunt Continues on 425 North for Dallas County Escapee

 

imageAccording to Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober, he and his deputies have been in a manhunt situation, in and around the Montongo and Campground area since around 3:30, Sunday morning.

The subject of the manhunt is a white male, around 5-7, 160 pounds, who escaped from the Dallas County Jail in Fordyce, around 12:30, last night.

Paul Grice was convicted of second-degree murder in Jefferson County in 1998.

He was being held in Fordyce, awaiting bedspace in prison, on aggravated residential burglary out of Bradley County.

He was seen in the Montongo area wearing a  black shirt, blue jeans, and a light colored jacket, around 3:30 am.

Arkansas Dept. of Corrections search dogs and riders are also on the scene.

The suspect, Paul Grice, an escapee from the Dallas county jail in Fordyce, was still the object of a manhunt by the Drew, Bradley & Dallas County sheriffs departments, Arkansas Department of Corrections search team with dogs and horses, Monticello Police Dept, and Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.

At last report, Grice was still on foot, in the area north of Monticello, between Barkada Road and Highway 24, with officers in pursuit.

11:00pm Update: The suspect, Paul Grice, an escapee from the Dallas county jail in Fordyce, was still the object of a manhunt by the Drew, Bradley & Dallas County sheriffs departments, Arkansas Department of Corrections search team with dogs and horses, Monticello Police Dept, and Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.

At this time, Grice is believed to be in the Western Pines area, still on foot.

There have been no confrontations  between the suspect and any other parties.

8:00am Update: There were no noteworthy changes in the manhunt for the suspect, Paul Grice, an escapee from the Dallas county jail in Fordyce, early Sunday morning.

For safety, the ADC bloodhound search team, returned to base, after 10 pm, and the manpower was scaled back around 1 am, as most of the officers had been in the manhunt for over 20 hours.

Agencies involved in the search included the Drew, Bradley & Dallas County sheriffs departments, Arkansas Department of Corrections search team with dogs and horses, Monticello Police Dept, and Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.
