01/20/16   New Regulations On South Arkansas Fishermen

A couple of fishing regulation changes have been made by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for South-Central Arkansas waters.

One is simply adjusting the dates on the commercial fishing season for Calion Lake to avoid conflicts between commercial fishermen and duck hunters. This regulation changes the commercial fishing season to February 1 through March 15. This amends last year's regulation changes which open Calion Lake to limited commercial fishing.

The other regulation change for District 6 is allowing anglers to keep largemouth bass in Lower White Oak Lake for the first time since renovation. This regulation change implements a 16-inch length limit and a 5 fish limit for largemouth bass on Lower White Oak Lake. The length limit was determined by an electrofishing survey done in the spring on the lake.
