01/20/16   Dallas County Authorities Searching For Murder Weapon

 

Dallas County Sheriff's deputies have been searching for the shotgun used in the shooting death of 48 year old Terry Smith of Fordyce.

According to Sheriff Stan McGehee, the weapon used in the shooting was a 20 gauge shotgun. It's believed the gun was thrown from a vehicle somewhere between the residence at 115 Dallas County Road and Fordyce after the shooting that killed Smith.

According to Dallas County Sheriffs Office, murder suspect 34 year old Cody Williams came into Fordyce on  state highway 229 and the weapon could have been thrown out on County Road 115 or 101 or anywhere in the vicinity. Anyone who might have found the shotgun lying in a ditch is asked to turn it in to the Dallas County Sheriff's office.  34 year old Cody Williams of Fordyce is being held on $100,000.00 bond at the Dallas County Detention Center and has hired defense attorney Eugene Bramblett of Camden.

According to Sheriff McGehee a motive in the shooting has not been established.
