01/19/16   National Salute To Veterans Coming In February

American men and women are serving and sacrificing for freedom around the world as America's military defends against terrorism. Many of these Veterans are coming to the Department of Veterans Affairs with special needs and challenges that require the hearts and hands of a new generation of VA volunteers.

Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System leadership and staff members invite citizens young and old to join in honoring Arkansas veterans and to learn more about the VA's volunteer program during the National Salute to Veterans Patients February 11 thru 20. Anyone can participate in the “Visit a Vet for Valentine's Day” program or stop by a VA facility during National Salute Week to visit veterans.

The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System salute will include a formal opening ceremony, followed by a small reception at Eugene J. Tobin Healthcare Center in North Little Rock on February 11 at 10:30am. The weeks events will conclude with a closing ceremony at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock on February 19 at 10:30am.
