01/14/16   Noontime Gas Leak In Downtown Bearden

Centerpoint Entergy had to be called to a gas leak in downtown Bearden yesterday during the noon hour. We were at the scene of the leak, located behind an apartment house on main street downtown and talked with former Bearden mayor Bill Farmer.

Farmer said some residents that lived in the immediate area of the leak were evacuated for a short time. A Centerpoint crew was working on another line on school street and was fast to respond to the leak downtown. City Marshall John Ainsworth said it did not take long for Centerpoint to have the gas cut off while the repairs were made.
