A former Fordyce city alderman and former owner of Friendly Foods in Fordyce has died. 89 year old J.B. Ethridge died yesterday.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in Germany and the South Pacific.

During his professional career he worked for Sunbeam Bread and Wonder Bread companies for several years. He and his wife of 67 years, Odessa, owned Friendly Foods for 10 years.

Ethridge served as Fordyce city alderman for 14  years. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 1-2pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will follow at 2. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chambersville. Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce in charge of arrangements.
