01/11/16   Shooting In Monticello Leaves Two Dead One Injured

 

According to a preliminary report from the State Police, special state police investigators were called in by the Monticello Police department to assist in the investigation of two homicides. The report states that Monticello police received a call yesterday morning reporting a homicide on south Chester Street.

When Monticello police officers arrived at the scene, they found 37 year old Jeremiah Jones dead inside a car not far from the Chester street address and inside the residence they found the body of 37 year old Shalonda Binns.

The report stated both bodies appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to confirm the manner and cause of death. Police also located Lavar Thompson of Dermott at the Chester Street address. He had sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a Little Rock Hospital. The case remains under investigation.
