01/11/16   Burglary At Anthony Timberlands

 

Late in December, Anthony Timberlands in Bearden was hit by a tornado, New Years Day, the band mill  caught fire and burned and now a report of a break in and theft of property.  Early in the morning, on January 4 the Ouachita County Sheriff's office got a call  of a reported burglary at Anthony Timberlands. Deputy Jared Brownlee responded and met Steve Mann, who reported the break-in. Mann stated the back door of the company's logging shop, located just off 203 in Bearden, was forced open and the lights had been cut off at the breaker box. Mann said the last time someone had been in the building was New Years Eve.

A number of items were reported stolen, including a welding machine, a stand-up black toolbox, a 4 by 8 trailer, a green 420 Honda Rancher, a Dewalt grinder and a Dewalt drill, all of which belonged to Anthony Timberland Inc. An individual who borrowed the four wheeler and trailer told Mann he had returned them and everything was still in place shortly after 6am.

The case has been turned over the the CID division of the Ouachita County Sheriff's Office.
