Funeral services for 89 year old William Hartsell Cayce of Thornton will be held this morning at 10 at Benton Funeral Home with Elder James Isaacs officiating. Cayce died Monday.

He was pastor for many years of Cane Creek Primitive Baptist Church and through the years served churches in Mena and Rolla. Harsel owned and operated Cayce Publishing Company in Thornton and was editor of The Primitive Baptist International newspaper for over 40 years.

He and his wife of 68 years, Jo Ann Cayce, owned and operated Cayce's Antiques for 45 years. He served as City Treasurer of Thornton 40 years and was a member of the Thornton fire department for 40 years. He was an army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 children including Joannie Cayce of Thornton and Paul Stephen Cayce of Thornton..and 4 grandchildren including Daniel Cayce and his wife Candice of Fordyce. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
