12/21/15  Southern Arkansas University Chancellor To Retire

The chancellor of SAU-Tech will retire and move into another position.  According to Southern Arkansas University System president, Trey Berry,  61 year old Corbet Lampkin will retire as chancellor January 4 and transition into a special projects assistant position created for him. Lampkin will continue earning his $150,000.00 salary.

According to a report in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Lampkin has served as chancellor for about 8 years, and will be in his new position for one calendar year before retiring for good. SAU-Tech's executive vice chancellor, Robert Gunnels, will manage all internal affairs while Berry will handle the technical school's external affairs.

Officials will establish a search committee in late spring to find a replacement for Lampkin and hope to have someone in place by January, 2017.
